Dr. Katy Tan was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with Honors at the University of British Columbia, and completed her Doctorate of Optometry at Pacific University College of Optometry. Throughout her education, Dr. Tan consistently excelled, earning Beta Sigma Kappa honors and graduating with distinction. She has served as a member of the college admissions board, and a clinical skills mentor for students.

Dr. Tan completed her clinical training with honors in diverse settings, including the Veteran Affairs Medical Center, refractive surgery centers, and private practices across Oregon and Idaho. Before moving to Washington, she gained extensive experience working in private practice in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Beyond her professional practice, Dr. Tan is committed to public service and making high-quality care more accessible. She has volunteered abroad with VOSH International, and has traveled to Cambodia to provide eye care to underserved, rural communities. Closer to home, she has supported local charitable organizations such as the Lions Club, and the Seattle/King County Clinic.
Dr. Tan is a member of Vision Source, the American Optometric Association, and Optometric Physicians of Washington. Her professional interests include ocular disease care, dry eye treatment, and myopia management. Outside of her practice, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling to new destinations, and exploring new foods.
