Optometrist
Dr. Kim was born and raised in Maui, Hawaii. He was introduced to Optometry at a young age, and gained experience working as an Optometric Technician during his early education. He attended Pacific University in Oregon and received his Bachelor of Science in Biology. He then went on to pursue his Doctorate of Optometry at Pacific University College of Optometry.

Dr. Kim’s professional experience spans diverse clinical settings, with notable externships at esteemed institutions such as Pacific Cataract & Laser Institute, and the Lebanon Veteran Affairs Medical Center.
He has worked in private practice and surgical care & co-management. Prior to living in Washington, Dr. Kim worked in Hawaii where he cared for patients throughout Maui County, often traveling to underserved rural areas of Hana and Lanai. He is a member of Vision Source, American Optometric Association, and Optometric Physicians of Washington.
In addition to prescribing glasses/contact lenses, Dr. Kim’s professional interests include managing & treating ocular disease, dry eye treatment, orthokeratology and myopia management, and neurolens. He enjoys staying up-to-date with the latest technological advancements of Optometry. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, golfing, skiing and snowboarding.

Dr. Katy Tan, a native of Vancouver, British Columbia, is a dedicated Optometrist bringing a wealth of experience and passion to Silver Lake Eye Care Center. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with Honors from the University of British Columbia before achieving her Doctorate of Optometry with distinction at Pacific University College of Optometry.
“My fascination with Optometry was sparked when observing my younger sister undergo Orthokeratology treatment for her progressive myopia. The remarkable advancements in Optometry, such as actively controlling nearsighted progression to ensure good ocular health, captured my attention. I am dedicated to actively listening to my patients, understanding their unique visual requirements, utilizing state-of-the-art technologies, and offering the most effective treatment options available.”
Dr. Katy Tan, a native of Vancouver, British Columbia, is a dedicated Optometrist bringing a wealth of experience and passion to Silver Lake Eye Care Center. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with Honors from the University of British Columbia before achieving her Doctorate of Optometry with distinction at Pacific University College of Optometry. Dr. Tan’s academic excellence was recognized with the prestigious Beta Sigma Kappa (BSK) honors during her educational journey. Throughout her training, Dr. Tan actively participated in the admissions board at the College of Optometry and contributed to clinical teaching for emerging Doctorate students.
Following completion of her studies, Dr. Tan provided full-scope Optometric care at various clinical settings, including the Veteran Affairs Medical Center, refractive surgery centers, and several private practices in Hawaii and Vancouver BC, Canada. Dr. Tan is passionate about community and public service, and has traveled abroad to Cambodia with VOSH International to provide essential eye care services to underserved, rural communities. Her ambition to serve and contribute continues, as she is involved in various community service programs in Washington, and aspires to volunteer in future eye care mission trips worldwide. She is an active member of Vision Source, American Optometric Association, and Optometric Physicians of Washington.
Dr. Tan’s professional interests include ocular disease, dry eye treatment, neurolens, orthokeratology and myopia management. Outside of work, Dr. Tan enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and cooking/exploring new foods.

After studying zoology at Iowa State University, Lynette M. Sundholm, O.D. earned my OD degree from Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago in 1985 and Silver Lake Eye Care Center was born in 1992. Member of the American Optometric Association, Optometric Physician of Washington and the Snohomish Society.
I hail from a large family in Iowa. After studying zoology at Iowa State University, I earned my OD degree from Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago in 1985 and Silver Lake Eye Care Center was born in 1992.
I am a member of the American Optometric Association, Optometric Physician of Washington and the Snohomish Society. I’ve been practicing optometry for over 35 years and I enjoy the variety of medical and functional optometry, the technological advances in eye care, and the heartwarming rewards when we change someone’s life.
My son, Adam, fills the balance of my life. I watch with much anticipation and participate enthusiastically in his life as he journeys to fulfill his dreams. I could not be more proud.
